Racing thoughts

Neither alive nor dead, 

I am lost in my head.

Trapped among the trees, 

nestled in the weeds.

On a path of earth and rain, 

revisited again and again.

Inside the fog, beneath the sea, 

caught up in their whispered plea. 

I am drifting, shifting.

sands of time, sifting.

I am the pull of the current, 

the cold of the snow.

I am neither where I've been, 

or where I want to go.
